Selective Compassion

Compassion, it binds us,It gives us discomfort;It takes us away from our comfort zone;It brings us pain in its caring chain;But empathy and kindnessare companions of gladness;and joy is not just about being free.

Selective justice, selective compassion,
death is every living entity's ultimate fear;
Why do they love you, why do they eat me,
is the painful question of a cow to a dog;

We kill, we care, we hate, we love,
the dualities of the world had made us bias;

Cows are said to be one of our mothers,
her milk that nourished our body
is one of our daily breads;
Necessity is enough reason for her
to survive in the world of needs;
But ours is a world of want,
and our wants forced us
to destroy her body
and devour her flesh;

And we do all these while
we are crying in defiance
against cruelty and violence.

Dogs are protectors that should be protected,
but for the sake of millions of starving children
of this world that she feeds; Cows are gentle
helpless Moms that should be cared and loved.

Man slaughters at slaughtershouses
and complain of much violence around.
Violence starts when compassion dies.
Violence begets violence. We reap what we sow.
No one escapes Karma. Action has reaction.
As law which at times is harsh, truth hurts;
Who eats what's been killed in those "houses"
is an accomplice in the killings.
